Unknown device

Size This device measures 100x55mm overall, plus the exhaust tubes. It has 14 pins at the base.

This unusual device consists of an electrode structure connected to a 14 pin base with no obvious way to determine which is pin 1, and what appears to be a screen connected to two pins at either side of the face.

The electrode structure (see pictures below) consists of a cylinder which is open at one end and has two fine wires going into it. It has not been possible to see if these are some form of heater. At the side of this cylinder are two flat metal plates, angled slightly, and between the cylinder and the 'screen' is a metal ring. Behind the two metal strips are three metal rods, two on one side and one on the other. Each of these is connected to two base pins.

The device has four glass tubes around its circumference, each sealed off.
