MT9L transmitting triode for modulator use. This is a nice old (new actually!) valve. 17V/9.2A filament, 5kV anode. It could produce a continuous 700W at 4kV anode. Filament connections are at the bottom, grid at the side and anode at the top. This valve is shown still tied up in its transport frame.

The MT9L was used in many installations, including Daventry and Droitwich transmitters where it was used as a sub-modulator feeding valves of the CAM type. It measures 20" by 7" approx and weighs 1.5kg.
