GE prototype magnetron

This valve measures 41x17mm overall and has a B7G base.

This appears to be an interdigital type magnetron with 6 'fingers'. No further details are known other than the GE box it came in quotes "Mini Magnetron" hand-written on the top.

This may be a prototype of the 6AE4 which was designed as the local oscillator for TV use. The 6AE4 was abandoned, possibly because of shortage of materials for the necessary magnet during the Korean War, and also possibly because inexpensive UHF triodes were becoming available.
