Valvo K81A noise diode, for use as a standard noise source. The filament is connected between pins 1,2,3 and 7,8,9, and the anode to 4,5,6. This is to help minimise self-inductance. The filament is tungsten, and the emission and thus noise voltage at the anode resistor can be varied by adjusting the filament voltage.
