RCA A15523/A15519

A15523 The device measures 75x50x30mm overall.

Information is needed on this device, which is a 'packaged' triode oscillator (a triode complete with cavity). Three wire connections lead in on one side and the output is taken from a coaxial connector on the body. A small tuning screw is located in the body opposite the output. The NSN data indicates 1.4GHz operation at 10mW, for receiver use in AN/ALR-20A airborne countermeasures sets.

The device itself is cylindrical and completely sealed. It has a metal plate as a base which is possibly a heatsink.

Z15523 x-ray
The x-ray shows the 'pencil tube' together with the output probe (top) and tuning stub (bottom). For an example of a pencil tube see the 5876.
